IN THE FIELD: We’re having a heat wave, a tropical heat wave…

For those of you experiencing the extreme temperatures that have swept the nation, I thought I would show an image to help make you feel a little cooler. Myself included.

I photographed this sailboarder while he was racing around in the Great Egg Harbor Bay. The bay is between Somers Point and Ocean City, New Jersey.

This guy had the right idea by going for a sail around the bay on a super hot summer day. When the heat would become too much to take, all he would have to do was let go of the sail and jump off the board into the cool water. Ahhhhhhh

Nice but cruel! I would so love to be at the ocean side now. Cape May, NJ would be perfect.

Lovely shot – ahh, sunshine!! Wish we could send you some of our rain! We have had a month’s worth of rain in 24 hours. If you’re wondering where all your water is going, the answer is: Britain!

Thanks for that refreshing shot! We are experiencing very hot, very dry weather and lots of fires. I believe I heard on the news that there are 9 wildfires in our state right now. June did not bring us any rain. We reached record high temp and even had a record low humidity of 2%.

    • July 7, 2012 at 1:47 pm

Glad this one helped! 9 fires?? Aww man….We haven’t seen any rain in weeks either…everything is drying up. We’re supposed to have a thunderstorm tonight, but they’ve been saying that for 2 weeks straight.
