IN THE FIELD: Last Blast Of Summer

A few weeks ago I took this photo of a Rose Of Sharon blossom on one of the last absolutely perfect summer days. It was mid morning, the sun was shining, the air was cool, and the sky was blue with puffy white clouds scattered about.

I will have to remember to go back to the archives and view this image in February when the temperatures are in the 20’s and the wind chills are in the single digits.

Thank you Nia, there were so many blossoms it was hard to choose which one to photograph!

Really like that color, ours are a slight pink, wish we had purple ones like this, too. A beautiful reminder of summer… πŸ™‚

It is pretty…we used to have a light pink one and a blue one in our old garden…then we moved. Hopefully in the new garden/home we will plant some!

LOL…this was a really good year for these as compared to years past. The bushes around here were covered in flowers!

Thanks LB, as John says…I have an entire archive to remember spring and summer by. You’ll be seeing them when it’s all white outside!

A good one to remember summer by!

Thanks Montucky, you have quite a few (that’s an understatement) in your collection to remind you of superb weather!

Perfect capture, right down to the little dew drops. Beautiful!

Thanks Jo, it was one of the few mornings when there wasn’t a constant wind. Close up photography of flowers in this valley can be a bit of a challenge. Our next door neighbor says he goes through two flags every year due to the wind!

Your ENTIRE archives are a respite from Winter’s chill.

Yeah…I suppose I do have a few floral photographs to choose from. I’m hoping for a great fall color season this year. I need some new images!

Now-a-days I see the photo and guess that it’s yours. And it turns out to be right (most of the times). πŸ™‚

    Great picture.

Gee thanks Nandini, I suppose I have a recognizable style…not that I was trying for one:)

Sounds like it was a perfect last summers day πŸ™‚ Lovely purple colour!
