    Golden moment there πŸ™‚

I just had to get a shot of that color against the blue sky!

Beautiful shot, David. Love how the light and the blue sky helps highlight the burnt ember colors at the edge of the leaves.

Thanks Gracie, I love the contrast of the sky and the leaves. This was a great year for the beech trees. The maples and oaks were not nearly as colorful as last year.

    Great shot, David.

Thanks Bob, the sky was so blue and the leaves were so golden, I had to capture the moment!

I agree, well done, David. The light, the texture, the colour.

Thanks Jane, the exposure took several tries to get right. Expose for the leaves and the sky was too light. Expose for the sky and the leaves were too dark. So I had to find a happy medium. Sure was pretty that day!

It was a wonderful afternoon. The air was cool, but the sun was warm and the yellows and golds were amazing!

It was so warm and cozy standing under the beeches…until next year. I’m amazed at all the beech trees here on the mountain. We used to live just 20 miles away and there were none to be found anywhere. Conditions must be just right in this area.

Beautiful, set off perfectly by the blue sky. There are very few leaves left around here… winter is closing its grip.

    • December 3, 2012 at 8:49 am

Thanks Jo, it was such a beautiful afternoon…then we had a bit of snow, then overcast for a week, and today the sun is shining and it’s spring like! Warm temps have been forecasted for the early part of the week and then it’s back to winter conditions.

Backlit foliage against a deep blue sky: one of my favorite sights and subjects. This is beautiful.

Thank you Lee, honestly, I can lay on my back and stare at the sky through the leaves of trees for hours without a care in the world. Ahhhhhhh

Beautifully lit photograph. The pretty blue sky with the darker leaves makes for a rich photograph/

Thanks MD, My chiropractor knows when I have been out photographing trees LOL. I love to just stand (or lie down) and stare at the trees and sky!
