IN THE FIELD: Tranquil Waters

It’s mid-week, time to slow down the hectic pace, take a deep breath and relax.

The photo is of Blue Hill Bay, Maine, in the morning.

The only sound we heard that morning was the tiny ripples of water as they rolled up on the beach of pebbles. Sure was peaceful. We just sat on some rocks with hot tea and took it all in. ahhhhhh

Thank you NIa, I thought folks might just need something peaceful to look at. We sat there for a little over an hour. Enjoy your day Nia!!!

Thanks Gracie, It’s a pretty place that doesn’t get a whole lot of traffic, so it’s usually as calm as this. We would love to move to Blue Hill…even looked at property a few years ago!

Beautiful, relaxing image David. I wish I was there. The white rabbit has nothing on me right now- “I’m late, I’m late, for a very important date!” Thanks for the interlude. πŸ™‚

Thanks Ted, I can get you directions…it’s off the beaten path and away from tourists. Glad to be of assistance!

Tranquil, deep breath, relax. Thanks for the reminder to slow down a bit. I will be in Atlanta traffic for a while today, so I will think of this post if things get too hectic!

    • July 25, 2012 at 12:40 pm

Happy to be of help. I hate traffic also…I think I will make a print of this photo and prop it up on my dashboard. Thanks for the idea!

Great photo. I really like the tranquility of this photo. πŸ™‚

Thanks Cornell, it was so peaceful that morning, no sounds except the water lapping on the pebbles and a few shore birds.

A lovely image, David β€” very calming πŸ™‚ And a quick scan of your blog I see you’ve posted some really good shots recently. I liked the beach hut one, which I’ll visit separately …

Thanks Mufidah, it was so peaceful that morning…we stayed there for a long time and just stared out to sea…I think the only thing we said after about an hour was…”well, should we go?”

  9. July 25, 2012 at 5:55 pm

very peaceful, David. Speaking of hump day, you never buy a car that came off the assembly line on a Wednesday during the world series.:)

    • July 26, 2012 at 8:56 am

You crack me up LOL! Thanks Jane!!!

  10. July 25, 2012 at 11:18 pm

That is indeed a calming scene!

    • July 26, 2012 at 8:58 am

The quiet at sea level vs. the quiet of the mountains…that’s a tough one to decide…I’ll take either any day!

I love mornings like that – as if you’re the only person in the world! Lovely atmospheric shot.

    • July 26, 2012 at 9:00 am

Thanks Jo, it sure was quiet…there was a road about 20 yards behind us but we never heard any vehicles. It did feel like we were the only ones in that part of the world!

  12. July 26, 2012 at 10:46 am

That is lovely and peaceful David. I was thinking of posting something similar today as an antidote to a hectic week!

  13. July 26, 2012 at 11:22 am

Thank you Meanderer, by all means post your photo…I would love to see it!

  14. July 26, 2012 at 6:06 pm

Oh, that looks so relaxing and peaceful. It’s a great photo!

Thanks Fergie, It sure was, and a bit later the clouds lifted and it turned out to be a beautiful day.

  15. July 27, 2012 at 7:30 am

So peaceful! I’d love to spend a few hours there!

    • July 27, 2012 at 9:53 am

We did! And there was no one else around the whole morning. A quiet beach, hot tea, and solitude…what can be better!

      • July 27, 2012 at 10:31 am

wow, that sounds like heaven πŸ™‚

  16. July 28, 2012 at 1:00 pm

Breathe in. Big sigh on the exhale. πŸ™‚

    • July 30, 2012 at 10:14 am

Exactly…..I wish I was there or sitting on the porch of a home we saw being built in Brooksville overlooking the water towards Castine. I wonder how I would find out who built it. It is the perfect home.

  17. July 31, 2012 at 10:19 pm

Nothing any better than being by or on still water, qetting to really listen & hear the surrounding sounds….what relaxation! When boating on the Wye River, we pass a home sitting away from the water but they have a hammock strung between two trees right at the water’s edge. One of these days they might find me in it! πŸ™‚

Wow…I can picture that scene perfectly…ahhhhhh
