INSPIRATION: Garden Sculpture – We All Have Our Favorites

When photographing gardens, I like to look for those special touches the owners have added to their space, in addition to their selections of plants and flowers. These touches add their unique personality to a garden space.

Some folks install classic or historical statues to evoke a formal, more tailored look to the grounds. Others add fountains, which can be utilitarian as well as providing relaxing sounds and movement. Or sculptures moved by breezes providing interest and another focal point in the garden.

A lot of people use colorful pots and urns to brighten up a shady area. And gazing balls do add reflections…although I have to admit never seeing anyone actually go up and stare at one.

And some sculptures simply bring a bit of whimsy into the garden space. Just because.

What a lovely sculpture… I wished to see in my garden whenever I look outside from my window… This was so beautiful photograph. Thank you dear David, with my love, nia

It is pretty cute…happy cat playing it’s fiddle to the creatures of the garden!

Hey diddle diddle? Right now the micro farm has but one turtle. If it should happen to grow there will be more turtles and maybe a gnome or two. Cute post.

The cat and the fiddle…maybe that was the problem with my micro farm last year…no garden creatures! I must look into that!

What an unusual garden sculpture! A nice change from the usual cherub spouting water. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that….)

I thought it was/is adorable and couldn’t pass it up. I have to agree with you…never quite understood sculpture that spews water…IE. toads, cherubs, etc. They are not my favorite, but to each his own as they say.

Thanks Cornel, the sculpture is nestled in a quite corner of the garden with old tree stumps in front to sit on.

There are all kinds of garden sculpture in this garden tucked away in small secret places waiting for discovery! It really is a fun place to stroll about on the paths that meander through the gardens.

This is just so cute! We don’t have anything like this in our garden, but I know when we have our own, Charlie will definitely make his stamp there 🙂
