INSPIRATION: A Glimpse of Summer
While looking through my archives, I found several photos that hint of a warmer season.
When I took this particular photo, it was a summer morning, the sun was shining and there was a slight breeze. Conditions were a bit different then, compared to what we have been experiencing lately.
Yesterday I heard the weather man say the outside temperatures may climb above the 30 degree mark this week…for a day or two. This would be a nice change since the temps have been in the 20โs during the day and the teens and single digits at night. And it has been very windy so that adds to the chill. No grilling dinner outside for me.
We havenโt received any snow except for the fluke October storm that dumped 12 -14 inches of the white stuff in one day. So, photos of landscapes under a fresh blanket of snow are going to have to wait since there is nothing in the forecast that refers to a winter wonderland anytime soon.
But then again, you never know what Mother Nature may have up her sleeve.
Shhhhhhhhh no snow blankets, ok! The green is what gets me the most in this picture. Just makes the whole image seem so alive and warm!
Ok, no snow blankets…I figured this photo would help all of us in the cooler temps think of the coming seasons!
Beautiful, so beautiful dear David, Thank you, with my love, nia
Thank you Nia…a little hint of summer!
while I am enjoying a fresh blanket of snow here, this is a lovely photo that I am appreciating in our -32 clesius weather(wind chill is -43) so thank you for this brief respite.:)
Glad this has brought a warm feeling to you since you folks are experiencing an arctic blast. -32 celsius… Yikes!!! Snow and cold temps are on the way here today also.
Lovely blossoms. This is a nice break from the cold. Winter is on it’s way though. We are supposed to get pounded with snow over the next few days, starting this evening. It’s coming towards us from the northwest USA.
Thanks Fergie, Winter is heading this way today also, although the weather folks aren’t predicting super heavy snowfalls. 4-6 inches maybe.
Wow, did I need a bright, warm-weather picture today! I live 3 hours south of ‘janechese’ from an above comment, and am experiencing the same cold weather conditions. This flower shot is wonderful, with the soft light and nice white-on-green contrast. Thanks David!!
You are welcome Steve…glad this fit the bill. You guys sure are getting and arctic blast!!! Snow is heading this way today but nothing near what is falling in the northwest!!!
The image captures the feeling of Summer so well! Grey here again today.
Ahhhh summer temps. We actually have sunny skies today…but still very cold and windy.
What a gorgeous photo! So warm and green and such a juxtaposition to what we’re living with today!
Thanks Tricia, it sure is a bit of different than what is outside now! Snow is coming!
Very pretty! I’m in the process of reviewing my wildflower photos too, something nice to do in the middle of winter. We are finally getting some good snow now too, about a foot in the past day.
Thanks Montucky, it is nice to review photos of different climes when it’s freezing outside. The snow is on it’s way here too…not as much as you folks are getting though!
What a simple, beautiful photo. David. Love it. And hope you get some snow soon! ๐
Thanks Katie, I thought most folks would appreciate the hint of summer. Snow is expected tonight!
OMG David. ๐ This photo is just too pretty for my eyes. The creamy flowers and the green: I loved it. No words! Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. ๐
Hope the snow fairy arrives soon for you! ๐
Thanks Nandini, I am glad you enjoyed it ! The snow fairy is waving her magic wand for snow tonight!
THANKS for this “glimpse,” David. We had an ice storm last night and everything is covered by a hard layer of ice.
Your welcome John, we had some freezing rain on top of the snow but temps are rising…thankfully!
Beautiful shot! I like the contrast between white and green.
Thanks Sunset, I thought folks that are in the middle of winter would appreciate a hint of warmer weather!
Thanks for that beautiful flower and a little ray of sunshine! Even though it is a really mild winter here in London this year, I can’t wait for spring to come! ๐
I feel the same way Kristina…one week it is bitterly cold and the next its mild. I guess that’s just the weather cycle we are in this year.
