Those are glorious! I love the light and shade in this one. 🙂

    • July 22, 2013 at 9:01 am

Pretty….I was lucky enough to be there before they came into full sun…especially since I had never been to this place before and not knowing the lay of the land/water.

  3. July 22, 2013 at 7:49 am

Now where did you find these lovelies?

    • July 22, 2013 at 9:03 am

I found these pretty things in the pond at Jenkins Arboretum. I took the photo a few weeks ago. On these hot days I would love to be in the water with them LOL.

      • July 22, 2013 at 9:09 am

I think the weather may be changing towards the hopefully cooler side. Currently it’s raining here.

      • July 22, 2013 at 2:53 pm

I hope so…we all could use a break!

  4. July 22, 2013 at 2:18 pm

Very pretty. A nice cooling image 🙂

    • July 22, 2013 at 2:54 pm

I felt this would be a nice image to start the week since it has been so warm lately.

  5. July 22, 2013 at 3:19 pm

Lovely contrast of light and shade, David.

    • July 22, 2013 at 4:09 pm

Thanks Mufidah, admittedly it was WAY cooler in the shade of the willow tree compared to the other end of the pond which was in full sun. And it was only 9:30 am!

  6. July 22, 2013 at 5:30 pm

Very nice, David! They sure are pretty with the blooms!

    • July 23, 2013 at 9:57 am

Thanks Fergie, I took this shot back in June and I would bet the pond is now covered with blossoms!

Thanks Montucky, it was a hot morning and I so wanted to jump in the water after I got this photo LOL.

very calming, do you have a pond nearby?Looks like the light is slowly creeping forward, removing the darkness.

    • July 23, 2013 at 10:02 am

You are exactly right Jane…as the the sun rose, the shade of the tall trees gave way to the sunlight. Actually, there are farm ponds all over the place around here and small streams also. This shot was taken when I was at the arboretum in Devon Pa.

Beautiful – I love the coolness and peacefulness.

    • July 24, 2013 at 8:55 am

I would love to float among them on a hot day…and we’ve had plenty!

I love the light play in this shot; the sunlight highlighting some of the blossoms, the shadows creating a pattern over the whole image. Very cool!!!

  12. July 26, 2013 at 9:21 am

Thanks Steve, this was the only area I was able to get a shot because of a fence and the undergrowth. My guess was in a half an hour this would have been in full sun. Glad I got the photo when I did…it was hot as the dickens!

Love the play of light and shadow.
