And that’s not all of them! They have a bakery at the market where I took this shot…last year for Thanksgiving they baked (I’m pretty sure this is what they told me)1649 pumpkin pies!!! I don’t know how many apple and berry pies they made, but I would bet it was a lot!
Took a second look huh?! Gee thanks Bob! That 35mm lens has become my go-to lens lately. It’s sharp through the whole range of apertures! Gotta love primes! Now I just have to budget for one of the big guns like you have!
Hey JP…maybe you could start a new tradition !!! Start small with a party for folks on your street which could lead to the neighborhood and then the whole country!!! You’d be famous!
Pumpkin pie is my favorite with either fresh whipped cream or vanilla ice cream on top!
Love the chaotic composition of bright orange pumpkins. It is a reminder that I need to take my kids to a pumpkin patch soon. Great photograph and I think the great pumpkin is in there somewhere…
Thanks Polly, better get out to the patch soon! You know how pumpkins tend to wander from their home turf! I was at the market on Tuesday and they have added even more display areas! I imagine they are getting ready for the weekend festivities…it was mobbed last weekend!
I was just thinking about visiting some punkins today myself…but its chilly out there! LOL The great pumpkin has a secret lair. Great shot
Thanks Teri, It’s chilly here also but out we go anyway! This shot is only about 1/3rd of one pile…I couldn’t fit them all in the frame LOL
That’s a lot of pumpkins, David! Enough to make pumpkin pies to feed a village! LOL!

Aren’t they wonderful? We don’t get pumpkins like that over here.
I love ‘em! There were several varieties and I have some shots I may post at a later time…don’t want to over-do things LOL
A feast for the eyes
This is only part of one pile/arrangement. There were others of smaller sized pumpkins, then the baking varieties and purely wacky looking ones!
Nice composition and pretty good sharpness from front to back.

That’s a lot of Pumkins…. I have to say, Halloween is one holiday I wish we’d adopted here in Australia. Apart from anything else, I like pumpkin pie
